Beautiful Beetroot
Not a vegetable typically associated with horses, at least, not so obviously
As of recently, feed brands have delved into the world of this purple red cluster as it turns out, it offers horses a high source of digestible fibre, becoming a bit of a power house for those suffering in the tummy & digestive area
Not only this, but it is also rich in "Nitrates". These playing a key role in allowing blood vessels to relax and therefore, widen, improving the blood flow and allowing oxygen rich blood easier access to the body
Sounds impressive, right?
Well, it doesn't stop there! Beetroot is also known for containing high levels of Antioxidants, plus Beetroot is know for deepening the hair colour, making it richer and healthy, both of these aiding in horses with skin issues such as Eczema
On top of all that, they pack a punch with potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium, copper, phosphorus, iron and zinc as well as vitamins A, E , C and B
All round this little vegetable really is a little superwoman
